Colours of India: A Mesmerising Celebration of Folk Dance
An In-House Folk Dance Competition, Colours of India, was organised on 11 August 2026, celebrating the vibrant diversity and cultural richness of Indian folk traditions. Students presented spectacular performances that reflected the beauty, energy, and spirit of India’s varied folk cultures. The dances were truly mesmerising, with the students displaying remarkable grace, precision, and confidence. Their expressions were on point, adding depth and authenticity to every performance. Each dance was presented with such perfection and attention to detail that it transported the audience into the very heart of the culture and tradition being portrayed. The stage came alive with colour, rhythm, and captivating storytelling through movement. The competition was judged by two distinguished personalities with extensive experience in Indian folk dance. Ms Shivani, an International Folk Dance Artist, Folk Dance Choreographer, Kathak Artist, and Theatre Performer, has represented Indian folk traditions on national and international platforms and won the International Folk Dance Competition in Dubai (2019). Mr S. Baljeet Singh Warraich, a veteran Punjabi folk dance coach associated with folk dance training since 1992, has taken teams to several international platforms and has been actively involved in promoting dance and theatre through Kala Manch, Ambala Cantt.
